Spicy Ramen: The flavor was good but the noodles were soft like instant ramen. I’d rather get this at Shanghai Saloon or Din Tai Fung. It also came with vinegar instead of soy sauce. It tasted like soup dumplings should but just seemed a bit dry. Their chili sauce here was quite vinegary. The pork belly was moist and tender.Ĭhili Wontons: We may be spoiled by Din Tai Fung (the best dumplings in SD). They were attentive and very helpful.įood: Not bad. The designs with piggies everywhere was cute. They also have a deck outside with heated lamps. With that being said, there are many places in San Diego that make better dishes.Įnvironment: It’s clean but has minimal seating inside. If I was in a city that did not have a lot of Asian food, this place would be awesome.

Next visit we will get full on meals and try the other options on the menu and I could only assume the food gets better from there. I’ve passed this place up for years going to other restaurants, but I am glad that I finally chose this place to test. Free parking is usually limited but they have a paid structure near the restaurant. The place always seems to be busy, but it didn't take us long at all to find a table and order. 3 bucks extra you can get the spicy soup and it's a great deal, flavorful and it's quite large so you can share.

The beef curry dumplings were delicious as well as the pickled cucumber salad simple but tasty. The popular XLB, soup dumplings with pork were a good change of pace to the familiar dumpling. Glancing at other tables I could see how appetizing everything looked, matching the aroma throughout the restaurant. I've tried so little, but I want to come back and try much more! I sampled a couple things and already got full, but I could smell everything around me and it's smelled great. I think I am safely going to jump the gun and give this place 5 stars.
